Industry Calls Archives: Biotech - September 2000
Biotechs
Thursday, September 28, 2000:  Biotechs are further lining up for a sell and are back up around their recent highs (the conservative or faint of heart might sell now, rather than waiting for a signal which could take a while, but should come within a few percent of current prices).
Monday, September 25, 2000:  We've got a sell developing on biotech. The biotech tracking stock is up about 10% since the buy, and individual stocks are up between 5% and 20%. This sector has been in about a 10-15% trading range for several months, now, and the signals we are getting coincide with industry stocks nearing the top of this range.

Tuesday, September 19, 2000:  Possible follow up buy on biotech.

Tuesday, September 12, 2000:  It looks like we have a weak buy coming on the biotech sector. Bullish signal on bbh (biotech holder) and 5 bullish signals of varying strength today on individual stocks. Typically, we need over half the stocks in an industry to go bullish on the same day in order to signal a buy signal on the industry (we would need 6 or 7 for biotech), so it may take a few days before this triggers, and bbh is still officially under a LAST STAGE SELL, so any upmove is not expected to be extremely strong.
