Industry Calls Archives: Semiconductors - July 2001
Semiconductors
Wednesday, July 11, 2001: Brief upmove expected on overall market. We hope that some of you were able to take advantage of last week's short recommendations on LRCX and AMD and pick up nearly 20% and 40%, respectively.
Monday, July 2, 2001: Overall market sell. Sell. Although the sell on the NASDAQ applies to all the tech sectors anyway, we do have a separate sell on semiconductors. We have bearish signals on more than two-thirds of the stocks we track in this sector and believe a pull-back of as much as 10-15% is imminent. A short position in Advanced Micro Devices (AMD 29.74) or Lam Research (LRCX 29.34) could likely be closed out at around 24 or 25 for near 20% gains.
