Industry Calls Archives: Oil Services - February 2001
Oil Services
Thursday, February 22, 2001:  Buy. We got bullish signals on nearly two-thirds of the stocks in this sector today, as well as a buy execute on the energy services index that we follow.  This, combined with the fact that prices are approaching a new support level provided by
the 50-day and 200-day moving averages as well as a rising trend line, gives us a buy on this sector, which is down about 7% since our sell at the end of December.

Wednesday, February 7, 2001:  Sell.  The oil services sector has moved to within about 3-4% of its highs, and several of the individual stocks are already sitting at all time highs.  With bearish signals on all of the stocks that we follow in this industry (85% of which came today), we believe this sector will be turning down shortly, in opposition to much of the other expected movement in tech sectors.
