Monday, February 5, 2001:
Weak Buy.
Though we do not yet officially have an
overall buy on the market, we do have a buy on
the biotech sector, which has somewhat broken
from trading in tandem with the rest of the
technology sectors over the past month or so.
This is not a particularly strong buy,

and we believe several
of the other technology sectors will be stronger
in the near term, but we should still see at
least 10% upside to the sector (as much as 40+%
in individual stocks) in the immediate term,
maybe more if it drifts up with the rest of the
market. In particular, we have a strong
buy on Human Genome Sciences (HGSI-51). We
also like Millennium Pharmaceuticals (MLNM-42+),
Celera Genomics (CRA-41+), Gene Logic (GLGC-21+)
and Hyseq Inc (13+) over the next 3-6 months.
